About Deborah
Deborah Moilan
Photographer + Energy Worker
Hello!
I look for beauty in the everyday and share it through photography. With over 30 years in the creative arts—photography, writing, marketing, and design—I create work that blends beauty, story, and soul.
For nearly two decades, I photographed weddings, portraits, and fine art, capturing the essence of life’s moments for free spirits. My career in marketing and communications strengthened my eye for storytelling and design, which continues to shape how I create today.
Along the way, I’ve learned to notice what truly resonates, what moves the heart, and what brings meaning to everyday life. Creativity has always been at the center of my world—but so have intuition and energy work.
I operated a Reiki energy healing practice as a certified Holy Fire® Karuna Reiki® Master, with additional training in Qi Gong, a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification, and direct experience working with shamans in the Amazon Jungle. These practices deepen my ability to sense, honor, and transmit energy through my art.
Today, I blend the creative arts with the healing arts into one offering: Art That Loves You Back—Reiki-Infused Fine-Art Photography.
“By keeping the wonder of life alive, my hope is that you’ll pause to appreciate the moment, turn inward, and recognize the beauty that already lives within you.”

If you’d like to dive deeper into how Reiki and photography came together in my life, I shared my story in International Reiki Magazine in 2018. The article explores my journey with Reiki and how I began merging energy work with the art of photography. Read the article.

Photography as Fine Art
Photography is how I see, but fine art is my purpose. I’m drawn to bokeh—the soft blur that creates depth, atmosphere, and a dreamlike quality. I notice details most people pass by, and I’m grateful for the ability to see beauty not only in the traditionally beautiful, but also in the weathered, the decayed, and the ordinary—where character truly lives.
I am inspired by quiet, overlooked moments that hold unexpected wonder. Rather than chasing flawless floral shots or polished “hero” subjects, I focus on subtle, intimate details where mystery and personality emerge. Every stage of a flower’s life—first bloom, full glory, or fading petals—tells its own story.
I work entirely with natural light, letting the subject and environment guide the image. Some pieces lean toward abstraction, because not every detail is necessary—I aim to capture essence.

Healing Qualities
Symbols speak where words cannot. Just as the Fibonacci spiral reveals harmony in nature’s unfolding, my art invites the soul to recognize patterns, awaken insight, and remember the beauty inherent in the moment.
Color, composition, texture, and light work together to create emotional resonance—guiding the eye, stirring the heart, and awakening a deeper awareness of the subtle energies in each scene. Every element invites a quiet dialogue between the viewer and the essence of the work.

Creative Philosophy
Nature shows us that perfection isn’t about symmetry—petals bend, colors shift, edges fray—yet harmony remains.
My art follows this same philosophy: beauty is not about flawless repetition, but about the unique, irregular, and real. In every divergence, there is wonder; in every flaw, a deeper kind of perfection.
